Girl On Fire by amy155 Girl On Fire by amy155
Here is Katniss Everdeen Jennifer Lawrence from The Hunger Games! :squee:

I think The Hunger Games is amazing! :la: Especially the film. The books are really good, but for some reason I was amazed by the film! :omg:
Which is rare because usually books are better than film adaptations...

I liked doing this drawing because it is a side view of her face rather than a typical front view, and also the black background and the contrast of the light on her face! :woohoo:

I'm not very experienced with using charcoal yet so I can't seem to get the shading quite right. :saddummy: any help?

Used:
:bulletblue: Reference Picture
:bulletgreen: Charcoal
:bulletpink: Range of pencils
:bulletpurple: Sharpener, eraser, Sketchbook Paper

Please let me know what you think! Thank you! :la:

Really love the lighting done on her face! Keep up the good work and I am exited to see your next charcoal piece if you decide to continue with it. =)

Thanks so much! :D I probably will do another charcoal one. They are very different to do than just pencil work, but in a good way! I think it is more difficult to do detail but because of that you get more freedom while drawing because you not focusing on the tiny little details. Thanks again!

No problem! I always find myself able to get looser with charcoal and there is always the option to get tighter with charcoal pencil, but I really love charcoal.
